The purpose of this project is to create a totally new Music Center for the University of Tennessee-Knoxville on the site of the existing facilities.  The new facility is programmed to be 122,000 GSF and houses performance, classroom, practice and office space for the Music and Band programs.  Several conceptual options were developed by the Design Team.  The chosen scheme is a four story solution fronting on Volunteer Boulevard with the main entry and pedestrian axis on the    second level.  This orientation also proved best for sustainable shading and natural lighting practices to be integrated into the facility.
